About the role

The Manager/Senior Manager, Outreach Events and Management leads the end-to-end planning and delivery of career events, workshops and outreach initiatives across physical, virtual and hybrid formats. The role covers event concepting, employer and partner partnerships, outreach strategy, operations, budget and vendor management, and performance monitoring.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver career events, workshops, networking sessions and outreach initiatives aligned with Workforce Outreach Division priorities.
  • Conceptualise event formats, participant journeys and engagement approaches, and pilot new initiatives to improve employer participation and job-matching outcomes.
  • Build relationships with employers, industry partners, associations, Self-Help Groups, community organisations and internal stakeholders.
  • Shape outreach strategies to attract suitable jobseekers and employers and reduce skills and hiring mismatch.
  • Oversee event operations: vendor appointment and management, logistics, registration, event-day execution, post-event follow-up, procurement and governance.
  • Develop event budgets, monitor utilisation, control costs, verify billing and ensure value for money.
  • Set and monitor performance measures, analyse participation and outcome data, and lead post-event reviews to turn feedback into improvements.
  • Coordinate internal teams and external parties to deliver multiple concurrent events.

Required profile

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in event management, programme delivery, project management, partnerships, outreach or a related field, including leading end-to-end events.
  • Experience managing vendors, budgets, stakeholders and concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Workforce, community, employer engagement or career-related experience is an advantage; candidates without formal qualifications but with strong experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge of HR hiring processes and national employment policies; knowledge of WSG programmes is an added advantage.
  • Established network with industry partners, employers and associations; experience with Self-Help Groups or community organisations is an advantage.

Required skills

  • Event, programme and project management, including physical, virtual and hybrid delivery.
  • Budget and vendor management with a governance and value-for-money focus.
  • Strong business writing, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Data analysis to evaluate event effectiveness.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quick adoption of digital tools.

Successful candidates are offered a contract initially, which may be extended or converted to a permanent tenure. Candidates are encouraged to create a Careers & Skills Passport account and include their public profile in their resume.
