Manufacturing Buyer

About the role

As a Buyer in a manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for executing purchases of components and raw materials, collaborating with the Global Procurement team and ensuring timely acquisition to support production.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze purchase requisitions using forecasts and historical data, clarify ambiguities with planners, and suggest viable alternatives.
• Coordinate with suppliers to schedule deliveries aligned with production orders and work with planners to ensure timely factory supply.
• Issue purchase orders after confirming supplier capabilities, product specifications, and pricing; obtain authorization for any deviations.
• Assist the Global Procurement team with supplier price negotiations.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to address delivery or product quality issues and manage returns/replacements (RGA).
• Assess supplier performance and contribute feedback to the Supplier Score Card.
• Control inventory by synchronizing forecasts, adjusting safety stock, applying JIT restocking, and calculating Economic Order Quantity.
• Negotiate supplier cancellation requests based on SAP exceptional reports to reduce liabilities and avoid surplus stock.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and communicate them to the Procurement team for further negotiation.
• Allocate resources during supply shortages between subcontractors and Molex to optimize company benefits.

Required profile

• Minimum GCE ‘A’ level, Diploma or higher.
• At least 3 years of relevant purchasing or procurement experience.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and drive performance metrics.
• Knowledge of logistics terminology and basic economic principles.
