Manufacturing Buyer – Procurement

About the role

As a Manufacturing Buyer you will manage the purchase of components and raw materials needed for production. Working closely with the Global Procurement team, you will ensure timely delivery, maintain supplier relationships and support quality and inventory objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze purchase requisitions, use forecasts and historical data, and clarify ambiguities with planners.
• Coordinate delivery schedules with suppliers and align them with production orders.
• Issue purchase orders after confirming supplier capabilities, specifications and pricing; obtain approvals for deviations.
• Assist the Global Procurement team in supplier price negotiations.
• Work with Quality Assurance to resolve delivery or quality issues and manage returns (RGA).
• Assess supplier performance and contribute to the Supplier Score Card.
• Control inventory using forecast data, safety stock, JIT restocking and EOQ calculations.
• Negotiate supplier cancellation requests to reduce liabilities and avoid surplus stock.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and communicate them to the Procurement team.
• Follow Molex Procurement Policy and EHS protocols, and manage resource allocation during supply shortages.

Required profile

• GCE ‘A’ level, Diploma or higher.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant purchasing or procurement experience.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet performance metrics.
• Understanding of logistics terminology and basic economic principles.
