Manufacturing Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manufacturing Cybersecurity Engineer to protect digital assets and industrial computing systems within its semiconductor equipment manufacturing environment. The role focuses on securing endpoints, enforcing configuration baselines, and managing network admission controls across global manufacturing sites.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain an accurate inventory of manufacturing digital assets, including workstations, servers, industrial PCs and vendor systems.
• Perform vulnerability scanning and assessment for eligible endpoints and coordinate remediation within production constraints.
• Implement and operate Network Admission Control (NAC) to govern device access to manufacturing networks.
• Own digital component decontamination processes for vendor laptops, removable media, firmware and installation tools.
• Support security incident response for manufacturing networks and develop SOPs, runbooks and metrics for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 5‑7 years of experience in cybersecurity or OT/industrial security with exposure to manufacturing or controlled environments.
• Hands‑on experience conducting vulnerability assessments, malware scans and enforcing security configuration baselines.
• Proven ability to develop, document and enforce repeatable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Required skills

• Experience with vulnerability management tools such as Tenable or Rapid7.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating system security baselines.
• Implementation of Network Admission Control (NAC) solutions.
• Deployment and management of antivirus, endpoint detection and response (EDR) and application allow‑listing technologies.
• Familiarity with malware‑free certification and digital component decontamination processes.
