Security Officer

About the role

Kempinski is hiring a Security Officer in Singapore, reporting to the Director of Engineering & Security. The officer ensures a safe and secure environment for guests and team members, makes sure safety and security measures are followed at all times, and responds to first aid incidents by applying effective first aid.

Key responsibilities

• Take charge of the control room and monitor CCTV at all times.
• Handle all incoming information with confidentiality and forward it to the concerned person.
• Support emergency situations and accompany guests or team members to local authorities or hospital if required.
• Keep fire exits and corridors free from obstruction at all times.
• Respond to fire or smoke alarms and be ready to act accordingly.
• Ensure gate passes are issued for all items and stock leaving the hotel, and log each item in the register book.
• Check that fire-fighting equipment is in good working condition and that emergency lights are illuminated.
• Patrol inside and around the hotel, driveway and parking areas to detect irregularities such as suspicious behaviour or security breaches.
• Carry out random checks on consignments and team members entering or leaving the hotel and their personal belongings at the security checkpoint to prevent pilferage.
• Conduct basic investigations and fact-finding, and assist guests and team members during incidents.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as needed.

Required profile

• Positive, friendly, professional and confident, with good interpersonal skills.
• Able to present a professional image and handle incidents discreetly, confidently and confidentially.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the hospitality industry.
• Able to perform shift work.
