Senior Engineer, Forming

About the role

West Pharmaceutical Services is hiring a Senior Engineer, Forming for an onsite position in Jurong, Singapore. The role supports the Manager, Production in optimising production workflows, processes, systems, procedures and training so that Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost are improved. It leads a team of Production Training Leads, manages the Training Within Industry (TWI) programme, helps run the Material Review Board (MRB) and drives Operational Excellence (OPEX) under the West Business System.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure production processes conform to cGMP, ISO and other formal systems, and that change control is followed
• Lead investigations of deviations and out-of-specification events and support CAPA implementation
• Lead process improvements using problem-solving tools such as A3, and coach team members
• Coordinate with partner sites in the Advanced Manufacturing Value Stream to adopt best practices
• Lead the business support team in purchasing (RFQ, PR, DO, invoices) and in maintaining production records, trackers, reports and KPI boards
• Manage PPE inventory, production gowns and staff lockers
• Drive the TWI programme, including train-the-trainer sessions for JI, and manage performance of Production Training Leads
• Lead the daily MRB process, manage rework of QC-rejected semi-finished goods and lead annual stock counts
• Improve WIP and inventory methods using Lean Six Sigma and support OPEX targets

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Preferred: elastomer manufacturing experience, ISO 9000 and cGMP experience, and a Lean/6 Sigma certification
• Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment and complying with plant dress and hygiene code
• Chinese Mandarin is an added advantage
