Manufacturing Supervisor - Biologics Pipeline

About the role

AbbVie is looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor for its Biologics Manufacturing Pipeline in Singapore. The role provides leadership and guidance to the stream-specific Biologics group so that clinical and bulk drug substances are manufactured safely, in line with regulatory and operational requirements, and supports Cell Culture, Purification or Central Services areas.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate stream and cross-stream initiatives, drive process troubleshooting, assist with change implementation and CAPAs, and initiate manufacturing process improvements.
• Operate computerised systems such as MES, HMI and PLC, and own the stream-specific area including upstream (inoculation, cell culture, recovery), downstream (chromatography, filtration, ultrafiltration, final filling) and central service (buffer/media preparation, autoclave, glasswash, sampling).
• Ensure a safe work environment in line with EHS policies, and reinforce safety during critical operations.
• Oversee batch records and SOPs, supervise bulk drug substance manufacturing under cGMP, prevent human error, support investigations and CAPA, and keep the plant audit-ready.
• Plan shifts, run processes on schedule and recruit, retain and develop manufacturing personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a science, pharmacy or engineering field, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Ability to work with minimal management direction and strong organisational skills.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of safety, quality systems and cGMP.
• Strong problem-solving, prioritisation and workload management skills.
• Computer proficiency and scheduling experience; good writing skills.
