Market Risk Manager (Metals) - VP

About the role

Deutsche Bank is hiring a Market Risk Manager covering global Metals trading activities, joining its Market Risk Management team. The role works with traders, risk partners and control teams to provide structured market risk oversight that supports sustainable business growth, and helps shape robust risk frameworks across complex commodities portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Support the build-out of Metals globally, especially in the APAC region, by engaging stakeholders such as Front Office trading and Strategy teams so that new products can be risk-managed effectively
• Review exposures, valuations, new products and market activity with Front Office trading teams, sharing clear insights within agreed risk appetite
• Provide inclusive market risk oversight, highlighting emerging risks, stress vulnerabilities and concentration themes
• Oversee daily monitoring of exposures against limits, escalating matters in a considered way where needed
• Work with Valuation Risk, Market Risk Analysis, Control and Risk Methodology Strategy teams to ensure consistent risk metrics, stress testing and reporting
• Support control infrastructure, valuation processes and risk methodologies, including change programs
• Contribute to a risk culture built on trust, openness and shared responsibility

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in market risk management within investment banking, global financial markets, commodities trading or a comparable financial services environment
• Minimum 5 years covering commodity markets, including metals products, market risk assessment and physical logistics or supply chain considerations
• Experience analysing the impact of financial and economic events on market behaviour and risk positions through scenario analysis
• Experience working with derivatives across flow and structured products in a regulated environment
