Material Quality Engineer

About the role

The Material Quality Engineer will ensure that all materials purchased for projects meet stringent quality requirements. You will act as a key liaison between clients, suppliers, classification societies and third‑party inspectors to guarantee compliance with technical specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Verify that purchased materials satisfy project quality standards.
• Review material data sheets, specifications and prepare technical procurement requirements for structural and piping items.
• Coordinate with clients, classification societies and inspection agencies for source inspections.
• Audit supplier and manufacturer quality systems and handle material‑related NCRs, concessions and technical queries.
• Review and approve Material Test Certificates and inspection reports, manage receiving inspections and issue material release notes.
• Conduct pre‑inspection meetings and monitor inspection performance, preparing reports for the QA/QC Head.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in materials quality management, source inspection and quality control of structural and piping materials.
• Proven experience on Oil & Gas EPC projects.
• Strong knowledge of material certification, inspection processes and quality documentation.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities with clients, suppliers and inspection bodies.
