Mechanical Engineer – Construction & Technical Support

About the role

As a Mechanical Engineer you will represent HDB throughout the full project lifecycle, from design and construction to post‑construction. You will ensure Mechanical Engineering Systems meet the highest standards and act as a technical resource for stakeholders, keeping systems aligned with evolving needs and technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee installation of Mechanical Engineering Systems by contractors, ensuring compliance with HDB standards, specifications, regulations and relevant codes.
• Conduct and audit tests on completed systems, uphold audit standards, and review design briefs, guide drawings and specifications.
• Provide technical support and training to Town Councils, Project Directors, authorities and other stakeholders on Mechanical Engineering matters.
• Stay current with new technologies, resident feedback, and authority requirements; conduct in‑house studies and implement improvements.
• Manage public complaints, feedback and communications related to Mechanical Engineering Systems.
• Assist in post‑construction technical support for older blocks, identifying and resolving issues.
• Carry out organisational improvement studies to support operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Background in Engineering, Building or a related discipline.
• Meticulous, independent worker with strong attention to detail and a sense of ownership.
• Pleasant disposition and strong communication skills for effective interaction with contractors, colleagues and residents.
