Mechanical Engineer - F10 Facility Maintenance

About the role

Micron is looking for a Mechanical Engineer for its Fab 10N/X facility to lead engineering and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems on site. The goal is continual improvement of system robustness, reliability and efficiency, under the guidance of the Facilities organization, to support the department, site, corporate and company goals.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and run preventive and corrective maintenance for mechanical systems such as HVAC, exhaust, scrubbers, process cooling water, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, compressed air, fire protection and cleanroom air systems, to maximise uptime and reliability.
• Respond to and solve system issues and production interruptions caused by mechanical problems.
• Plan, design and lead mechanical engineering projects including new construction, system upgrades and quality improvements.
• Track and plan capacity for mechanical systems.
• Follow environmental, safety, health, standard operating procedures, risk assessments, good housekeeping and quality policies.
• Use computer-based software to document and analyse maintenance work orders, equipment history and project tracking, and keep fault history records.
• Apply quality tools such as 8D and 5 Why analysis for troubleshooting.
• Lead energy savings and sustainability projects, and manage procurement for facilities equipment upkeep.
• Identify and enable smart technologies and AI to improve project tracking, maintenance overviews and budget tracking, and share AI-enabled improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering or Science.
• Background in mechanical system design and engineering (e.g. HVAC, exhaust) is an advantage.
• Familiarity with sustainability efforts (electricity, waste, water reduction) is a plus.
• Interests in and knowledge of the semiconductor industry and Micron are preferred.
• Leadership experience and a track record of impact are highly desirable.
• An internship or experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus.

• Ability to use automation with the MS Office suite; Excel VBA is a plus.
• Baseline digital fluency and role-appropriate AI literacy to use AI tools responsibly.
