Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of mechanical solutions for semiconductor and display equipment. You will apply a strong foundation in physics, mathematics, and materials science to solve complex mechanical challenges throughout the product life cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve difficult mechanical problems with limited supervision.
• Develop, design, and modify mechanical layouts, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Design and implement custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes for handling, assembly, and disassembly of components.
• Prepare and document engineering test reports and analysis for complex scopes.
• Lead or execute projects, work with key suppliers, and generate mechanical product specifications.
• Oversee manufacturing and installation processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Coordinate procurement and assembly of mechanical components, identifying critical parts and subsystems.

Required profile

• Strong academic background in physics, mathematics, or materials science.
• Ability to work independently on challenging mechanical problems.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills for technical specifications and reports.
