Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our global engineering team, focusing on the design and development of material handling mechanisms for semiconductor and surface‑mount inspection equipment. The role involves concept creation, detailed design, testing, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and produce detailed drawings for mechanical parts, mechanisms, and modules used in material handling systems.
• Assemble and test final hardware, generating product drawings and project documentation.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to refine specifications.
• Evaluate and select appropriate manufacturing methods and materials.
• Lead design reviews and cross‑functional discussions to resolve issues and optimise designs.
• Define and execute test plans for design verification.
• Apply machine‑vision concepts and perform thermal, structural, tolerance, and vibration analyses.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of direct experience in mechanism design, custom machine development, and fabricated parts.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in GD&T drawing and detailing (ANSI Y14.5).
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix organisation with global engineering collaboration.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; Mandarin is a plus.

Required skills

• Intermediate/Expert knowledge of PTC Creo, Windchill and SAP.
• Experience with machine‑vision concepts and requirements.
• Thermal, structural, tolerance and vibration analysis.
• Mechanism design, custom machine design, and fabricated parts design.
• Design of semiconductor and surface‑mount assembly equipment, adhering to relevant industry standards.
