Mechanical Engineer (Jurong Island)

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer will lead the maintenance team on Jurong Island to ensure reliable operation of a power plant. You will plan, supervise and continuously improve plant maintenance activities while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and supervise daily maintenance activities, allocating manpower and resources.
• Support the power plant in meeting contractual, technical and commercial requirements.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for all plant equipment and utilities.
• Perform frontline troubleshooting of equipment failures to maintain high availability.
• Provide technical guidance to maintenance staff and external contractors.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and update CMMS data.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and enforce safety precautions.
• Execute additional tasks assigned by plant management.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with plant equipment such as pumps, compressors, HRSG, valves, and fans.
• Hands‑on experience in power‑plant or process‑plant maintenance, including erection, commissioning and start‑up phases.
• Strong knowledge of system installation, troubleshooting, routine inspection and maintenance.
• Experience with vibration monitoring, alignment of rotating equipment and lubrication practices.
• Proficiency in maintaining records in a CMMS.
