Mechanical Engineer – Plant Maintenance

About the role
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for delivering mechanical maintenance activities that keep the Energy‑from‑Waste plant operating safely and efficiently. You will work closely with operations teams to plan, schedule, and execute both corrective and preventive maintenance tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and schedule corrective and preventive maintenance works, coordinating with operations, technicians, and spare‑parts inventory.
- Lead technicians in executing maintenance tasks and ensure proper allocation of resources.
- Troubleshoot critical plant issues, participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) studies, and drive plant improvement initiatives.
- Implement proactive maintenance strategies such as predictive maintenance and failure‑finding activities.
- Monitor budget performance, control costs, and maintain risk registers.
- Participate in safety walk‑downs, enforce safety initiatives, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Develop and maintain maintenance procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
Required profile
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a process/power plant environment or oil & gas industry.
- Organised, detail‑oriented and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proactive attitude towards new technologies and continuous improvement.
