Mechanical Engineer – Power Generation Commissioning (SGD 4.5‑5K)

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Mechanical Engineer to join our power generation commissioning team in Jurong West. The role involves installing, testing, starting‑up and commissioning generator sets, pump sets and marine propulsion engines for industrial, marine and offshore projects. You will work closely with customers, project engineers and internal technical teams, both locally and on overseas assignments.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and applications for power generation equipment.
• Perform start‑up, testing and commissioning of generator sets, pump sets and marine propulsion engines on land, offshore and marine sites.
• Execute generator synchronisation, paralleling and control‑system testing.
• Liaise with customers, project engineers and stakeholders to ensure smooth project completion.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and control‑system issues during commissioning.
• Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings for installation and troubleshooting.
• Support workshop activities, including mechanical and electrical works and generator testing.
• Prepare commissioning reports, service reports and other technical documentation.
• Participate in overseas commissioning projects as required.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–4 years of experience in power generation, generator sets, industrial equipment, marine or oil & gas sectors.
• Hands‑on experience in generator commissioning, start‑up, testing and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with generator control systems, synchronisation and parallel operation.
