Mechanical Engineer – Precision Mechanism Design

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead precision mechanism design projects at our Singapore facility. The role involves taking concepts through detailed design, analysis, and hands‑on assembly in a clean‑room environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop designs from concept to detailed drawings for precision mechanisms.
• Perform structural, vibration/modal and tolerance analyses using Finite Element Analysis tools.
• Create fixtures and conduct simulations to validate designs.
• Assemble and build mechanical assemblies in a clean‑room setting.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are compatible with machining, sheet‑metal fabrication and welding processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in precision mechanism design.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack‑up, and error budgeting.
• Proficiency in conducting FEA, vibration and modal analyses.
• Hands‑on experience with clean‑room assembly and mechanical manufacturing processes.

Required skills

• 3D solid modeling using CAD software (SolidWorks, ProE/Creo).
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Finite Element Analysis (structural, vibration/modal).
• Tolerance stack‑up analysis and error budgeting.
• Machining, sheet‑metal fabrication, welding.
