Mechanical Engineer – Semiconductor Equipment Design

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team developing material‑handling mechanisms for semiconductor and surface‑mount inspection equipment. The role involves concept development, detailed design, prototype assembly and testing, ensuring high‑performance and reliable hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design and produce detailed drawings for mechanical parts, mechanisms and modules used in material‑handling systems.
• Assemble, test and validate final hardware, creating product drawings and project documentation.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to refine specifications and resolve design issues.
• Evaluate and select appropriate manufacturing methods, materials and industry standards.
• Lead design reviews with cross‑functional teams and define test plans for design verification.
• Perform thermal, structural, tolerance and vibration analyses, applying machine‑vision requirements where needed.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in mechanism design, custom machine development and fabricated part design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven ability to work in a matrix organization with global engineering collaboration.
• Effective communication skills in English; Mandarin is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in PTC Creo for 3D modeling and detailed design.
• Experience with Windchill for product data management.
• Knowledge of SAP for engineering change and BOM management.
• GD&T drawing and detailing according to ANSI Y14.5.
• Understanding of machine‑vision concepts and related requirements.
• Capability to conduct thermal, structural, tolerance and vibration analyses.
