Medical Social Worker – Government Hospital

About the role
The position involves delivering patient services in a government hospital, providing mental health assessments, counseling, and contributing to interdisciplinary care plans.
Key responsibilities
- Assess mental health issues, provide case formulation and treatment recommendations.
- Provide counseling/psychotherapy to identified inpatients and outpatients.
- Contribute to the overall patient care plan as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Facilitate transition of patients to adult care.
- Develop or improve workflow to enhance patient care.
- Initiate and implement new psycho‑social programmes.
- Assist in developing teaching and training materials.
- Provide in‑service training for department staff as needed.
Required profile
- Minimum degree in Social Work.
- No prior experience required; training will be provided.
- 2–4 years of social worker experience is an advantage.
- Available to work office hours, Monday to Friday, in a government hospital.
