Member of Technical Staff, NAND Advanced Thin Films Process Development

About the role

Micron Technology is hiring a Member of Technical Staff (MTS) for its Advanced Thin Film Process Development team in Fab 10N/X. The role advances thin film process development for NAND memory technology, performing experiments, carrying out material characterization and supporting process integration and fixing. It works with senior engineers and multi-functional teams to promote manufacturability and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project-level initiatives on structural and electrical film processes, especially dielectric (Low and High K) and carbon-based films.
• Run complex experiments and support process integration under the guidance of senior staff.
• Facilitate technology transfer and assist process ramp-up activities.
• Maintain accurate records of experiments and processes, and prepare technical reports.
• Mentor early-career staff and support continuous improvement of existing processes.
• Take part in multi-functional problem-solving teams and contribute to guidelines, SOPs and knowledge management systems.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• 10 to 15 years of experience in thin film R&D for NAND, specifically diffusion and CVD films.
• Demonstrated multi-functional collaboration and project-level leadership.
• Preferred: a strong record of technical contributions, publications or patents.

Required skills

• Thin film deposition: ALD and plasma and thermal CVD, including recipe setup, tuning and fixing.
• Metrology tools: ellipsometry, XRR, SEM, TEM, CD-SEM, thickness measurement and particle counters.
• Process integration, defect analysis, yield improvement, SPC, DOE and root cause analysis.
• Knowledge management systems, SOP development and safety and quality compliance.
