Middle Office Specialist - FX

About the role

The Middle Office Specialist is a key member of the Middle Office (Asia) team in Singapore, providing day-to-day trade support and controls across the FX business. The role ensures accuracy, integrity and timely processing of transactions throughout the trade lifecycle, works closely with FX Sales and Trading, the Front Office and Operations, and reports to the Head of Middle Office (Asia).

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely and accurate trade support and controls across the FX business, managing operational risks and consulting regularly with front representatives on FX business needs.
• Handle post-trade activities such as exception handling and issue investigation, and respond to queries from FX sales/trading, the Front Office, Operations and external counterparties and brokers.
• Support the team's financial, strategic and operational goals, identify efficiency improvements and propose process and workflow optimisations.
• Conduct regular control checks and produce reports, and support ad-hoc projects on products, GPS systems and middle office processes.
• Manage the lifecycle of FX products, structured products and OTC derivatives.
• Meet legal, regulatory and compliance requirements, follow user manuals and guidelines, and uphold standards of honesty, integrity, due care, fair dealing and conflict-of-interest management.

Required profile

• Higher education in finance, economics, business administration or a related field.
• 5-8 years of relevant experience, specifically in middle office FX support.
• Able to work independently and in a global team, with strong communication skills and fluency in English; Mandarin is an advantage.
• Commercial judgement, business acumen and a broad understanding of financial markets and products.

Required skills

• Simple programming skills (e.g. Visual Basic) are a plus.
• Strong understanding of order management processes and core banking systems.
• Familiarity with regulatory expectations and cross-border rules and regulations.
