Mobile Applications Developer (Android)

About the role

DXC Technology is seeking an Android Mobile Applications Developer to design, build and maintain high‑performance Android apps for its enterprise clients. You will work in an agile environment, collaborating closely with backend, QA and business teams to deliver reliable solutions that meet user experience standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse, design, develop, implement and provide post‑production support for Android applications.
• Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into clean, scalable code.
• Design, build and maintain reusable, high‑performance Android components.
• Identify performance bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues and fix defects.
• Maintain code quality, documentation and test automation.
• Support deployment, release and post‑release activities in production environments.
• Collaborate with backend, QA and business teams following agile delivery practices.

Required profile

• Diploma, Polytechnic or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3–5 years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong understanding of Android UI/UX standards and Material Design.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Eligibility for a CAT 1 government security clearance and Singapore citizenship.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

Required skills

• Kotlin and/or Java for Android development.
• Android SDK, app lifecycle management and support for multiple Android versions.
• Integration of RESTful APIs.
• Offline storage, threading and performance tuning.
• Version control with Git or SVN.
• SQL and database interaction.
• Familiarity with React Native, TypeScript and Angular (legacy support).
• Biometric authentication (Face ID, fingerprint, iris).
• Push notifications and cloud messaging APIs.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated build/release processes.
