Mold Technician (Technician 2)

About the role

Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) is looking for a hands-on Mold Technician (Technician 2) at its Tuas plant to support the maintenance, repair and optimisation of molds used in manufacturing. The role helps keep molds reliable, minimises downtime, maintains production efficiency and supports high-quality product output, working closely with Technical Specialists, production teams and engineering stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Clean mold parting lines and keep molds in optimal condition
• Carry out mold preventive maintenance (PM) and mold changeover (C/O) according to established procedures
• Support mold repair and cavity unit (CU) recovery to minimise downtime
• Maintain mold cavity utilisation performance targets and tooling readiness
• Analyse defects and identify tooling-related issues on plastic parts and mold steel components
• Keep accurate mold history records and document maintenance activities in SAP
• Follow technical directions from Technical Specialists and Senior Technical Specialists
• Support daily tasks assigned by the Team Leader, maintain 5S standards in the toolroom and support continuous improvement with production, engineering and quality teams

Required profile

• GCE O Level, NITEC, Higher NITEC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Tool & Die, Manufacturing or a related discipline
• Experience in mold maintenance, mold repair, tooling or injection molding is preferred
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and tooling specifications
• Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required
