Naval Architect – Structural & Scantling Design Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a Naval Architect specialized in structural and scantling design to join our marine engineering team. The role involves performing detailed finite element and vibration analyses of vessel structures and contributing to weight‑optimisation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct Finite Element Analysis and vibration studies using ANSYS to model and assess ship structures.
• Perform global analysis of ship structures under hydrodynamic loading.
• Refine models and propose design optimisations for weight savings.
• Develop structural design calculations and produce ship and deck structure drawings.
• Create 3D models in Aveva Marine and other CAD tools.

Required profile

• Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural design and analysis of marine vessels.
• Strong knowledge of international design codes, classification societies and statutory regulations.

Required skills

• ANSYS for finite element modelling.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and vibration analysis.
• Aveva Marine 3D modelling.
• 3D CAD modelling proficiency.
