Network Engineer / Senior Engineer (Day 2)

About the role

NCS, a technology services firm operating across the Asia Pacific region, is looking for an Infra Engineer / Senior Engineer, Network (Day 2) to join its networking team. The role involves troubleshooting, resolving and proactively managing network and infrastructure issues to ensure high availability, performance and security across enterprise/campus and data centre environments, while participating in incident management and working with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse incidents and technical issues affecting infrastructure operations, and own incidents from all severity levels through to closure with timely updates.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network and infrastructure issues of varying complexity, and identify early warning signs of performance decline after upgrades, updates or maintenance.
• Perform proactive health checks, take part in incident management and rotational standby, adhere to SLAs and produce incident reports when required.
• Execute routine administration, configuration and support tasks, review and implement change requests, and perform impact analysis for planned maintenance.
• Execute failovers and patch management where required, apply upgrade plans with minimal disruption, and maintain network documentation.
• Use network management tools to monitor, analyse and report on network performance and status, and take part in root-cause investigations.
• Update incident management systems with escalated cases and collaborate with internal and external teams, escalating issues when necessary.
• Senior engineers mentor and guide junior engineers in troubleshooting and incident management.

Required profile

• 4 or more years of IT or networking experience.
• Diploma, degree or equivalent education.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Only Singapore citizens will be considered due to project sensitivity.

Required skills

• Certification: CCNA / CCNP / CCIEN.
• Routing and switching, wired and wireless networks, and network security (ACL, firewall, VPN, ISE).
• Network performance monitoring.
• Experience in at least one domain: data centre networks (e.g. Nexus switches 7K/9K and NX-OS, Cisco ACI), or enterprise/campus wired and wireless networks.
