Night Desk Officer (Asia) - Execution

About the role

Julius Baer is hiring a Night Desk Officer for its Execution (Asia) team, working after Asian office hours during US market trading sessions. The officer ensures fast and accurate execution of trade orders, keeps operational losses to a minimum and meets regulatory and internal compliance expectations. The role reports to the Head Execution (Asia) - Night Desk.

Key responsibilities

• Execute client orders for equities and fixed income products in European and US markets during the night shift, keeping error rates low
• Provide a high quality of service to Execution (Asia) - Night Desk clients and Direct Access Clients (DACs), and respond to general enquiries about the global macroeconomy and financial markets
• Maintain close working relationships with counterparties and consult regularly with Front representatives on clients' needs
• Maintain and update client information, keep accurate trade records and provide regular reports to management
• Meet legal, regulatory and compliance standards, including suitability checks, disclosures and approval of new counterparties before trading
• Assess practices to mitigate risks and uphold standards such as honesty, integrity, fair dealing and conflict of interest management
• Support team spirit, motivate colleagues and contribute to a collaborative environment

Required profile

• Higher education and professional background with 5-10 years of relevant experience
• Able to work independently and in a global team, troubleshoot quickly and work under pressure
• Good communication and coordination skills with stakeholders at all levels
• Regulatory MAS licensed representative
• CACS 1, CACS 2, RES 1B/2B and CM-SIPF certifications
• Familiarity with cross-border rules and regulations; proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage

Required skills

• Proficiency in trading systems and tools, and strong knowledge of equity, structured products and fixed income products, trading platforms and execution strategies
• Understanding of electronic pricing tools and dealing systems
• Microsoft Excel and other relevant software
