NPI Engineer - Central NPM

About the role

Micron is hiring an NPI (New Product Introduction) engineer for its Central NPM function. The role covers end-to-end execution of NPI demand lines, build plans and production orders, WIP and hot lot management, cycle time governance, and the transition from NPI to sustaining production, with a focus on risk management and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage NPI demand lines from build request through shipment, monitor MAD commitments, run recovery plans and support demand line closure and disposition governance.
• Coordinate build plan commitments with manufacturing sites, track production order start and completion, and resolve bottlenecks affecting critical NPI deliveries.
• Monitor critical NPI WIP across assembly, test, module and SSD operations, manage hot lot prioritization and escalation, and track cycle time performance.
• Analyze model versus actual cycle time, drive corrective actions, support benchmarking and reporting, and maintain cycle time assumptions for planning and forecasting.
• Track product readiness and launch metrics, coordinate the handoff from NPI to sustaining production teams, and lead backlog and MAD risk reviews with escalation of critical risks.
• Drive automation opportunities, develop reporting and analytics, support AI, RPA and digital transformation initiatives, and standardize processes across sites.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, supply chain, planning, operations, product engineering or NPI management.
• Experience in cross-functional manufacturing environments; knowledge of semiconductor assembly, test, module or SSD operations is preferred.

Required skills

• Data analysis and reporting; advanced Microsoft Excel and Power BI/Tableau.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing execution and planning systems.
• SAP, planning tools or enterprise analytics platforms are advantageous; Python, SQL, Power Automate or AI/automation skills are preferred.
