Ocean Export Agent

About the role

Expeditors, a Fortune 500 global logistics company offering air and ocean transportation, customs brokerage, distribution, cargo insurance and consulting, is hiring a bilingual Ocean Export agent in Singapore. The role provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers and aims to meet department objectives for timely freight processing and associated administrative tasks within set KPIs. Only candidates currently residing in Singapore can apply.

Key responsibilities

• Process international shipments with customers according to company procedures in OPS and meet their expectations
• Follow the department process flow and enter data correctly and on time
• Prepare and update the DLSOP so that customer standard operating procedures are in place
• Screen customers' creditworthiness and denied parties before shipment
• Ensure accurate and timely client and vendor billing within company and customer standards
• Maintain good relationships with suppliers such as shipping lines, trucking companies and CFS providers
• Meet compliance requirements and government regulations, with no fines, penalties or late filings
• Ensure permits are approved before exportation
• Comply with OPS quality standards, including timely documentation and invoicing
• Reply to emails within 24 hours and voicemails within 1 hour, escalate issues to management when needed, and take on additional tasks as required
• Complete 52 hours of training per year

Required profile

• Minimum tertiary education
• 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination
• Fluent English; bilingualism is preferred
• Understanding of ocean documentation processes is a plus
• Proactive, organized, accurate and timely, with a good team spirit and initiative
