Open Rank Tenure-Track Position in Digital Humanities

About the role

The Department of Communications and New Media at the National University of Singapore seeks an open‑rank, tenure‑track faculty member in Digital Humanities. The appointment may be at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level and will focus on research and teaching at the intersection of media studies, communication, and computational methods.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in digital humanities, media studies, and related areas.
• Conduct high‑impact research in computational text or multimodal analysis, data visualisation, digital storytelling, digital archiving, network analysis, social media analytics, or human‑computer interaction.
• Secure external research funding and manage start‑up resources.
• Provide academic service, including supervision of graduate students, participation in departmental committees, and community outreach.

Required profile

• PhD in Digital Humanities, Visual Communication, Media Studies, Communication Studies, Information Studies, Cultural Studies, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the listed research areas.
• Strong record of scholarly publications and a clear research agenda.
