Open Source Technical Analyst – Contract (Banking)

About the role

ICON OUTSOURCING is looking for an experienced Open Source Technical Analyst on a contract basis to support banking and fintech initiatives. The role combines technical leadership, project delivery, and production support across cloud, Java, and middleware environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a technical team and manage projects using Agile, Waterfall, and Kanban methodologies.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications with Java (JDK 1.8+), Spring Boot, JSP and Bootstrap.
• Build and integrate backend services and APIs, ensuring performance and reliability.
• Provide BAU/Ops support, including monitoring and incident handling.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Work with relational databases such as Oracle and MS SQL.
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
• Integrate and troubleshoot middleware components (Apache, JBoss, WebLogic, WebSphere).
• Document technical specifications, workflows and operational procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement and agile initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience in stakeholder management, technical leadership and project management.
• Hands‑on experience with Jira, Kanban boards and Agile/Waterfall project delivery.
• Solid background in Java development (JDK 1.8+), Hibernate, Spring Boot, JSP and Bootstrap.
• Experience with Oracle and MS SQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud deployment strategies on AWS or Azure.
• Exposure to BAU/Ops support in production environments.
• Experience with middleware platforms such as Apache, JBoss, WebLogic and WebSphere.
• Knowledge of containerisation using Kubernetes and Docker.
