Operations Research Engineer (Contract) - Transport & Distribution

About the role

A client in the transport and distribution industry based in Singapore is looking for an Operations Research Engineer on a temporary basis. The role uses advanced methods to optimise processes and solve complex problems, applying technology to improve operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement optimisation models to improve operational processes.
• Analyse data to identify trends and recommend actionable solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address operational challenges.
• Apply advanced algorithms and tools to support decision-making.
• Conduct simulations to test and validate proposed solutions.
• Prepare detailed reports and present findings to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all projects.
• Maintain and update technical documentation as required.

Required profile

• Strong educational background in operations research, engineering or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with optimisation modelling and solver technologies.
• Strong knowledge of linear programming, mixed-integer programming and discrete optimisation methods.

Required skills

• Data analysis, modelling and simulation tools.
• Solver technologies such as Gurobi, CPLEX, FICO Xpress, OR-Tools, Pyomo, JuMP, AMPL or equivalent.
• Preferred tech stack: CPLEX, Dataiku or Snowflake.

What we offer

• Monthly salary of SGD 8,000 to 10,000 (SGD 108,000 to 132,000 per year).
• One-year extendable contract.
