OPEX Engineer – Lean Management & Continuous Improvement

About the role

The OPEX Engineer will lead lean management and continuous improvement initiatives at West Pharmaceutical Services' Singapore site, supporting the plant’s operational objectives. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to drive efficiency, data visibility and a culture of ongoing improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute lean deployment projects using tools such as Kaizen, DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping, 5S and SMED.
• Monitor progress, ensure sustainability of results and maintain lean process documentation.
• Provide technical advice and analytical support for site‑level projects, facilitating workshops that apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Develop and maintain KPI dashboards in Power BI and Excel to track operational performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Automation, Digital and Technology teams to enhance data visibility, reporting efficiency and digitalisation initiatives.
• Promote a Lean culture and continuous‑improvement mindset across operational teams.
• Lead cross‑functional cost‑saving activities, root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action implementation.
• Validate new lean process concepts and measure post‑implementation results, such as cell manufacturing performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in Lean Management or Six Sigma within a manufacturing or highly regulated environment.
• Foundational knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt preferred) is advantageous.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Required skills

• Lean Management tools (Kaizen, DMAIC, VSM, 5S, SMED).
• Six Sigma methodology.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data modeling).
• Power BI or equivalent data‑visualisation tools.
• Basic functional knowledge of SAP.
