Part-Time Lecturer for Power Semiconductor Based Converter in Renewable Energy Systems

About the role

The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University seeks a part‑time lecturer to teach the postgraduate course EE6506, focusing on power semiconductor based converters in renewable energy systems. The 13‑week module begins in August 2023 and targets MSc Power Engineering students.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures covering theory, practical design, and applications of power semiconductor devices and passive components.
• Prepare teaching materials, problem sets, and case studies that illustrate device selection, control, and protection techniques.
• Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and project evaluations.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to postgraduate students throughout the semester.

Required profile

• PhD in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a closely related field.
• Extensive relevant industry experience in power electronics or renewable energy systems.
• Demonstrated passion for teaching and, preferably, prior postgraduate teaching experience.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of power semiconductor devices.
• Understanding of passive components and power converter design.
• Experience with renewable energy system applications.
• Ability to perform device selection, control, and protection analysis.
