Part-time Remote Professor of Information Security

About the role

Western State University seeks a part‑time, remote Professor of Information Technology specializing in Information Security. You will design and develop curriculum, conduct research, teach university‑level courses, mentor students, and support the university’s academic growth, marketing, and outreach initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop Information Security curricula and course materials.
• Deliver undergraduate and graduate lectures, labs, and seminars in Information Security and related topics.
• Conduct scholarly research and publish findings in reputable journals or conferences.
• Mentor and advise students on academic and career development.
• Contribute to departmental marketing, outreach, and community engagement activities.

Required profile

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a closely related field.
• Proven university‑level teaching experience in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Network Security, Ethical Hacking, Digital Forensics, Cryptography, or related subjects.
• Strong research record with publications in reputable venues.
• Practical experience in information security operations, risk management, security auditing, cloud security, or penetration testing is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.
