Part‑Time Lecturer – Ethics and Civics

About the role

The School of Social Sciences at NTU is seeking experienced part‑time lecturers to deliver undergraduate courses on Ethics and Civics. You will join a dynamic academic team and contribute to shaping students' understanding of human rights, governance, and social diversity in Singapore and the wider region.

Key responsibilities

• Attend online lecture sessions as scheduled.
• Conduct tutorials, lead discussions, and assess student work for assigned modules.
• Grade assignments, quizzes, tests and exam scripts in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the course coordinator to address student queries and ensure smooth course delivery.

Required profile

• A degree in social sciences, preferably with a focus on political science or sociology.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore’s political and social landscape.
• Demonstrated ability to teach topics such as human rights, meritocracy, political systems, multiculturalism, freedom of speech, and gender diversity at the undergraduate level.
• Availability to tutor/lecture during designated office hours.

Required skills

• Effective communication and presentation skills for online teaching.
• Proficiency in grading and providing constructive feedback.
