PDE MRDA KEG Engineer / Senior Engineer

About the role

Micron is hiring a PDE MRDA KEG Engineer or Senior Engineer to develop, qualify, deploy and sustain advanced defect inspection and metrology solutions that support New Product Introduction (NPI), HBM technology ramps and High Volume Manufacturing (HVM). The role drives inspection readiness, equipment performance and defectivity reduction through close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and metrology platform ownership: manage advanced inspection and metrology platforms through package development and manufacturing, and drive equipment lifecycle management, capacity planning and technology insertion.
• Equipment qualification and deployment: lead tool installation, TIQ, release and production readiness, set acceptance criteria and qualification methodologies, and drive tool-to-tool matching and network standardization.
• Defectivity engineering: develop inspection solutions to detect, monitor and reduce critical defects, and set defect metrics and observation methods.
• Data analytics and digital transformation: manage MRDA data systems and engineering applications for Advanced and Conventional Packaging, integrate inspection, metrology, manufacturing and quality data, and build dashboards, analytics platforms and automated workflows.
• Technology development and NPI readiness: support HBM, Advanced Packaging and Conventional Packaging programs and ensure tool readiness for NPI, pilot builds and manufacturing ramps.
• Supplier and industry engagement: work with equipment suppliers to resolve technical issues, evaluate new inspection technologies and lead technical reviews.
• Cross-functional leadership: partner with Process, Equipment, Manufacturing, Quality, Automation and Global Engineering teams and lead project execution and risk management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Materials, Chemical or related field).
• Experience driving equipment qualifications, technology transfers and manufacturing ramp readiness.
• Strong supplier management and collaborator engagement skills.
• Ability to influence technical strategy across multiple organizations and sites, and to work in highly matrixed global organizations.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of semiconductor equipment performance, process integration and manufacturing operations.
• Ability to apply AI, analytics and automation to improve defect detection, prediction and process control.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and executive presentation skills.
