People Operations Partner

About the role

Airwallex, an AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is hiring a People Operations Partner in Singapore. You will be the on-the-ground owner of day-to-day people operations for the Singapore entity, possibly supporting operations across the SEA and EMEA regions. The role covers the full employee lifecycle, payroll coordination, HR governance and process improvement, and is hands-on with a high degree of ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Run day-to-day people operations for the Singapore entity across onboarding, changes and offboarding in HR systems and payroll platforms, keeping data accurate and timely.
• Coordinate monthly Singapore payroll end-to-end with the payroll vendor and Finance, manage inputs, review draft reports and resolve discrepancies, ensuring pay, tax, CPF and other statutory components are correct.
• Maintain HR governance by operationalising employment policies, templates and controls (contracts, letters, checklists, approvals, audit trails).
• Act as the People Operations contact for managers and employees on contracts, leave, scheduling, probation and data changes, escalating complex cases appropriately.
• Localise and deliver global and regional people programs such as performance and feedback cycles, manager training, benefits changes and HR systems changes.
• Support the Singapore People & Talent roadmap, including wellbeing benefits, automation projects and process improvements, and partner with the Workplace Experience team.
• Build and refine SOPs, checklists and controls, and use AI tools, spreadsheets and HRIS exports to improve data quality, payroll accuracy and workflow efficiency.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in HR / People Operations or HR Generalist roles, including direct ownership of day-to-day HR operations for a Singapore employee population.
• Hands-on experience coordinating Singapore payroll with an in-house or outsourced provider.
• Strong working knowledge of Singapore employment fundamentals (offer and contract structures, CPF, leave and time-off rules, IRAS).
• Experience in a fast-growing environment and in identifying and implementing process improvements and automation.
• Preferred: experience in a global or regional tech / fintech / product-led company, exposure to HR governance frameworks, and direct liaison with external partners such as payroll and benefits providers.

Required skills

• Confident use of HRIS, payroll and performance tools, Google Workspace and basic reporting.
• Ability to learn new tools quickly and spot data or process issues in exports and reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with attention to detail and follow-through.
