Pharmaceutical Technologist Trainee – Attach and Train Programme

About the role

The Attach & Train Programme is a 15-month on-the-job training programme within AbbVie's API Manufacturing team in Singapore, designed to build skilled talent for the local biomedical manufacturing sector. You will work alongside experienced professionals supporting the production of high-quality active pharmaceutical ingredients under strict quality and compliance standards. Applicants must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents.

Key responsibilities

• Execute batch manufacturing instructions precisely and independently carry out key API unit operations such as charging, vessel transfer, filtration, drying and pack-off with minimal supervision.
• Verify batch recipes and manufacturing documentation, give input on DCS recipe design and support digitalisation and continuous improvement.
• Maintain a safe working environment under EHS policies, join the site Emergency Response Team and help with safety risk assessments and process hazard analyses.
• Resolve batch documentation errors promptly, keep records complete to GMP/GDP standards and keep the plant audit-ready.
• Communicate issues to stakeholders, meet ongoing training requirements and deliver tasks on schedule, escalating scheduling risks to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science or an equivalent technical field; fresh graduates are welcome.
• Exposure to DeltaV distributed control systems and MES through internships, projects or prior experience is an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to work comfortably in 12-hour rotating day/night shifts.
