Piping Engineer

About the role

The Piping Engineer will be responsible for delivering complete and coordinated design packages for assigned projects, ensuring calculations, drawings, specifications and reports meet quality standards. Working closely with senior engineers, the role supports project delivery within budget and schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review piping general arrangement, isometric and vessel trim drawings.
• Develop plot plans, equipment layout drawings and tie‑in location plans.
• Perform pipe stress analysis for critical lines and review pipe support designs.
• Conduct material take‑offs, compile piping bills of material and prepare material requisitions.
• Assist in drafting piping material specifications, pipe support specifications and subcontract requisitions.
• Maintain project files, data books, specification lists and design change notices.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in piping design and construction.
• Experience in petrochemical, refinery or chemical plant projects preferred.
• Solid understanding of equipment/piping layout and space management.

Required skills

• Pipe stress analysis.
• Preparation and review of isometric and general arrangement drawings.
• Material take‑off and bill of material compilation.
• Design of pipe supports and specifications.
• Creation of plot plans, equipment layouts and tie‑in plans.
• Knowledge of piping material specifications and subcontract requisition processes.
