Planning Engineer - Industrial Engineering

About the role

Micron is hiring a Planning Engineer in its Industrial Engineering (Planning IE) team at Fab 10N/X. The team models capacity for the fab so that the right tools are bought at the right time to meet customer demand. You will own key information and critical planning parameters in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, partnering with other teams to prepare data for scenario studies and continuously improve the plans.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate capacity modelling for the assigned fab area
• Apply industrial engineering concepts to capacity analysis, line management, scheduling and production planning
• Use statistical analysis to maintain and audit manufacturing capacity information
• Design and coordinate projects with several departments
• Work with management to develop applications that improve production metrics
• Plan with R&D and process engineering for future product introductions
• Run what-if scenarios on model changes and assess their impact with Engineering and Production
• Coordinate capital purchases and capacity changes with corporate planning and purchasing
• Keep up with area issues, priorities and projects with the Area Managers
• Use AI-assisted tools responsibly and share AI-enabled improvements within your scope

Required profile

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering or Science, with a preference for Industrial Systems Engineering
• Strong understanding of statistics and data analysis
• Strong analytical, logical and critical thinking skills
• Effective communicator who collaborates across all levels
• Growth mindset and demonstrated leadership are highly desirable
• Knowledge of the semiconductor industry and Micron is preferred
• AI literacy to use AI tools responsibly for research, analysis and problem solving
