Plant Manager – Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM)

About the role

The Plant Manager (SCEM) will lead the operation and optimisation of twelve chiller plants at NTU, ensuring high reliability, efficiency and compliance with contractual requirements. The role involves overseeing ACMV systems, handling emergencies, and driving energy‑saving initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and be accountable for 12 chiller plants, maintaining system efficiencies per contract.
• Identify inefficiencies in chilled water plants and propose optimisation strategies.
• Maintain facilities to achieve high reliability, availability and operational standards for ACMV systems, including laboratories and clean rooms.
• Respond to emergencies and urgent issues promptly, mitigating consequences.
• Coordinate the Annual Electrical Shutdown and participate in commissioning, handover, defect identification and power‑tripping troubleshooting.
• Supervise engineering staff and specialist sub‑contractors, ensuring electrical and mechanical tasks meet specifications and drawings.
• Ensure quality workmanship and strict adherence to safety standards across all teams and contractors.
• Support Green Mark submissions, energy initiatives, pilot studies and related reporting.

Required profile

• Accredited Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM).
• Proven experience managing multiple chiller plants and ACMV systems.
• Strong ability to diagnose and resolve operational issues in diverse facilities.
• Experience coordinating large‑scale electrical shutdowns and commissioning activities.
• Leadership skills to manage engineering staff and subcontractors effectively.
• Commitment to safety, quality and environmental standards.
