About the role
The Plant Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day operations of an Energy‑from‑Waste (EfW) facility, ensuring safe, reliable incineration and steam generation while meeting regulatory, environmental and security standards.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee all daily EfW activities including waste nomination planning, bunker management, incineration, steam generation and ash handling.
- Ensure safe and reliable steam export in line with customer agreements.
- Maintain compliance with NEA, MOM, SCDF and PUB regulations and enforce safety, health and environmental standards.
- Monitor stack emissions, CO₂e intensity, wastewater, noise and dust to meet environmental requirements.
- Lead site security operations – access control, CCTV, contractor and visitor management, patrols and protocols.
- Drive process optimisation using FMEA, RCM, predictive maintenance and digital monitoring.
- Manage and develop multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
- Engage with steam customers, utilities, regulators and internal stakeholders.
- Control departmental resources and budget, support audits, inspections and licensing.
- Contribute to business strategy, performance forecasting and project feasibility.
Required profile
- Degree in Engineering or Operations (Chemical, Mechanical or Energy preferred).
- 8–10 years of experience in power generation, utilities or EfW operations.
- Strong knowledge of incineration, steam cycle operations, environmental compliance and site security.
- Familiarity with NEA licensing, carbon tax and emissions monitoring.
- Proven team‑leadership in continuous‑process environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Comprehensive understanding of operational processes, safety standards and relevant regulations.
