Podiatrist (AH12/AH13) - National University Hospital

About the role

National University Hospital (NUHS) in Singapore's Western Cluster is looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated podiatrist to join its Podiatry team. The position is open to an AH12 or AH13 podiatrist; new graduates are welcome and will rotate through all sub-specialties of podiatry, contributing to multidisciplinary teams and managing foot problems from diabetes, vascular, rheumatological, dermatological and musculoskeletal conditions. Training is provided, with an assigned mentor guiding you through a six-month competency development programme.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose patients with a wide range of medical and podiatric conditions using appropriate diagnostic techniques, skills and tools.
• Triage urgent and high-risk referrals from hospital-based medical and surgical teams and from community practitioners.
• Take part in nail surgery, prevention clinics and mentoring students.
• Provide input into the education of other health care professionals on high-risk feet and other foot conditions.
• Take part in professional development and clinical supervision, developing yourself and others in the team.
• Report to and liaise with referring doctors and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Document patient podiatry notes clearly, accurately and in a timely manner, and charge patients accurately.
• Perform assessment and registration of new patients.
• Supervise therapy assistants and students in podiatry.
• Comply with clinical standard operating procedures and department policies on clinical governance, health and safety and infection control.

Required profile

• A recognised degree in Podiatry.
• Excellent (or emerging) clinical diagnostic and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent time management, communication and organisational skills.
• Self-motivated, positive and collaborative, with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to show empathy, resilience and a methodical, problem-solving approach.
