Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Electrolyte & Materials Interfaces for Batteries

About the role

The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to lead independent research on electrolyte and material interfaces for next‑generation batteries and electronic devices.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct advanced research on solid‑state and high‑energy batteries, including materials synthesis and development of sensors, semiconductors, switches, and transistors.
• Design and perform electrochemical, mechanical, and advanced materials characterizations.
• Collaborate with internal and external academic and industrial partners on joint projects.
• Prepare manuscripts for high‑impact journal publications and present findings at international conferences.
• Contribute to grant proposal writing and new project development.
• Mentor and supervise PhD, Master’s, and undergraduate students in the laboratory.

Required profile

• PhD (or conferring) in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least three years of hands‑on experience in materials synthesis, electrochemical testing, and advanced characterization techniques.
• Proven track record of high‑quality publications in high‑impact journals.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
