Principal Engineer - OCT PCVD Manufacturing Alignment

About the role

Micron Technology is hiring a Principal Engineer for its OCT PCVD Manufacturing Alignment team at Fab 10A. The role drives improvements to manufacturing capability, delivers industry benchmark methods at the lowest cost and manages the execution of global standards across process areas, in line with Micron's business plan and strategic objectives. It requires collaboration with Sites, Procurement, Global Quality and other OCT departments, and international travel as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Improve tool utilization to meet BIC standards, including cold/warm shutdown procedures, spare parts and manhour savings from reduced preventive maintenance counts, and closing POR-MOR gaps
• Standardize practices and best-known methods (BKMs) across process areas, create area-level BKMs libraries and feed them forward to process development and high-volume manufacturing
• Standardize preventive maintenance procedures across the network, integrate them into a tablet-accessible system, and manage change for new procedures
• Deploy and sustain system-level BKMs through site task forces and local MA engineers, with a one-year monitoring period after standardization audits
• Lead projects, coach teams, share knowledge and report monthly on progress to the Area
• Stay current with fab manufacturing and business practices, set personal development goals and use mentors

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• At least 10 years of experience in a fab/semiconductor environment
• Experience across multiple fabs and global sites, including pilot lines, ramp lines and greenfield startups
• Preferred: experience with the SEAL standardization process and implementing new systems in a process area

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of semiconductor front-end process and equipment
• Deep expertise in implant process and equipment engineering, including tool installation and qualification (TIQ) and maintenance strategies
• Ability to use AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency, quality and effectiveness
