Principal Engineer - Process Development, Photolithography, NAND

About the role

Micron is looking for a Principal Engineer to lead advanced photolithography development programs. The role defines and executes technology and equipment roadmaps that improve margin, scalability and manufacturability, influences integration strategy, mentors engineers and drives innovation across development teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead photolithography process development across advanced technology nodes.
• Define and execute photolithography process and equipment roadmaps aligned with future device requirements.
• Drive early adoption of innovative materials, processes and patterning schemes.
• Lead cross-functional development programs and influence integration decisions.
• Partner with suppliers to accelerate breakthrough solutions.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across projects.
• Generate intellectual property through patents and technical publications.
• Use AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency, quality and effectiveness, and share AI-enabled improvements within your scope of work.

Required profile

• PhD with at least 5 years, or Master's with at least 7 years, or Bachelor's with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics or a related field, with demonstrated experience in semiconductor photolithography process development.
• Proven track record of defining and delivering photolithography process and equipment roadmaps.
• Preferred: advanced DUV/EUV lithography experience and multi-site program leadership.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of optics, immersion lithography, polarized illumination and low k1 imaging.
• Lithography simulation tools, material characterization, DOE, SPC and basic statistical data analysis.
