Principal Engineer – Superintending Officers Representative Assistant (SORA)

About the role

The Principal Engineer – Superintending Officers Representative Assistant (SORA) will support the Superintending Officers (SO) and their Representative (SOR) in the contract administration and delivery of large‑scale infrastructure projects, including airfield works where applicable.

Key responsibilities

• Report to SO and SOR, overseeing contract administration for major infrastructure programmes.
• Coordinate design efforts with consultants, manage construction activities and ensure smooth handover of completed works.
• Review contractor proposals, technical specifications and ensure compliance with authority requirements for tendering, submission and construction.
• Lead project management functions such as budgeting, claim handling, progress reporting and supervision of large‑scale works.
• Guarantee that all engineering outputs meet statutory standards, regulations and relevant Codes of Practice.
• Liaise with stakeholders, clients, consultants, contractors and regulatory authorities throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Degree or Master’s in Project Management, Civil or Geotechnical Engineering recognised by the PEB.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in project management, geotechnical or civil infrastructure projects as a core team member.
• Successful delivery of a project of similar scope as a SORA or equivalent, using PSSCOC or a comparable framework.
• Strong familiarity with statutory codes, contract administration, claim and EOT management, site supervision and quality‑control procedures.
