Principal Photo Scanner Engineer

About the role

Micron is hiring a Principal Photo Scanner Engineer in its Front-End Operations Central Team, within the Central Process & Equipment Engineering Photo Scanner group. The role provides deep technical and operational leadership to improve photo scanner performance across the global Micron network, partnering with Technology Development, R&D, manufacturing sites, suppliers and central planning to raise uptime, utilization, productivity, tool install readiness, quality and cost.

Key responsibilities

• Drive global improvements in WPD, uptime, utilization, MA% and tool throughput, benchmark site performance and set best-known methods to reduce variability
• Lead assessments and recovery actions for recurring issues, chronic bottlenecks and tool performance gaps
• Work with Technology Development, suppliers and facilities teams to optimize tool-install sequencing, qualification and ramp models, and govern technical change management
• Collaborate with PEE teams, Quality Engineering, Central Planning, Procurement and suppliers, including supplier quality workshops
• Lead projects on tool performance, availability, cycle time and continuous improvement, reducing downtime, technician labor and scrap costs
• Provide expert guidance on TOR, BKM governance, process windows and technical decision frameworks, and standardize troubleshooting flows, tool health metrics and scanner capability indices

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Materials or related field)
• 6+ years of relevant semiconductor photo processing or scanner engineering experience
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional, cross-site engineering initiatives
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including supplier engagement

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with ASML scanners and advanced technology node ramps
• Demonstrated success driving large-scale manufacturing or equipment performance programs
• Structured problem-solving experience (8D, DOE, SPC)
