Principal Research Fellow – Antibody Discovery & Engineering

About the role

The School of Biological Sciences at Nanyang Technological University seeks a highly motivated Principal Research Fellow to lead antibody discovery and engineering projects within a multidisciplinary cancer biology team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform phage‑display selection, screening and optimisation for monoclonal antibody discovery.
• Generate mouse monoclonal antibodies using hybridoma technology.
• Characterise antibodies (binding affinity, specificity, epitope mapping, stability).
• Engineer antibodies for enhanced function, including Fc modifications, bispecific formats and humanisation.
• Evaluate therapeutic efficacy in cell‑based assays and murine tumour models.
• Develop and refine workflows for antibody generation and engineering.
• Collaborate on research projects, manuscript preparation and grant applications.

Required profile

• PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences or a related discipline.
• Proven experience with phage‑display or other antibody discovery platforms.
• Hands‑on expertise in protein expression, purification and characterisation.
• Experience in hybridoma generation and in‑vivo mouse cancer models (highly desirable).
• Strong analytical, organisational, communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
