Probe Equipment Technician

About the role

Micron is hiring a Probe Equipment Technician for its Fab 10N/X site. The technician provides shift-based technical support for probe equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing, keeping the machines running reliably and helping to stabilise production.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver shift-based technical assistance for probe equipment, including operation, monitoring, troubleshooting and recovery to ensure stable manufacturing output.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance, including BOM checks, consumable management and adherence to standard operating procedures.
• Analyse equipment data and perform root-cause analysis using structured methods such as 5-Why and 8D to resolve recurring or complex issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives such as equipment optimisation, process stabilisation and best-known methods.
• Help develop digital, automation and AI-enabled solutions for equipment health detection and fault analysis with engineering teams.
• Keep close communication with production and process colleagues on priorities, shift handovers and quick resolution of critical equipment risks.
• Follow safety procedures, take part in training and support sustainability initiatives.
• Document findings, corrective actions and lessons learned, and share AI-enabled improvements with the team.

Required profile

• Nitec, Higher Nitec, Diploma in Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical or Materials Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience in probe manufacturing.
• Strong hands-on technical competence with semiconductor probe equipment, including troubleshooting, maintenance and recovery in production.
• Ability to use analytical methods such as 5-Why, 8D, FMEA or Lean tools.
• Effective written and verbal communication for shift handovers and cross-functional collaboration.
• Willingness to work in a 12-hour shift-based manufacturing environment.
• Interest in or basic understanding of automation, data analytics or AI in semiconductor manufacturing is an advantage; knowledge of the semiconductor industry and probe operations is beneficial.
